Are you a passionate registered veterinary nurse looking for an exciting new challenge? Do you have a love for wildlife and a desire to make a positive impact on wildlife conservation? Join our team as a volunteer veterinary nurse and gain valuable experience in wildlife medicine while working alongside an experienced team of veterinarians and veterinary nurses. As a volunteer veterinary nurse, you'll play a vital role in providing treatment and intensive care support for sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife in Western Australia. You'll work alongside our team of dedicated professionals to provide the highest standard of care for our patients. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to learn valuable skills in wildlife medicine, including administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs and other health indicators, and assisting with procedures (surgery, radiology, laboratory, endoscopy, ultrasonography). You'll also gain hands-on experience working with a wide variety of wildlife species, from birds to marsupials to reptiles. Our minimum commitment is just one 3 or 6 hour shift per week, with shifts running between 8am to 8pm. • Assisting veterinarians with various procedures (surgery, radiology, laboratory, endoscopy, ultrasonography)
• Administering prescription medications
• Administering fluids and food
• Triaging new patients admitted to the Hospital
• Record keeping
• Cleaning surgical kits, instruments and equipment
