Bring a smile and cheer up this elderly man who is living in an Aged Care Facility in Mount Gravatt. Our client speaks Serbian, but his country of origin is Ukraine. He came to Australia in 2023 with his family.

Time may be spent talking, sharing cultural festivities or looking for a simple leisure activity that you can do together.

His hobbies and interests are music, concerts and social events.

We ask volunteers to commit to weekly or fortnightly visits of one hour each for four months preferably, however, this is an ongoing role, and we hope to support your new friendship for as long as possible.

Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support, travel reimbursement and invitations to meetings together with other visiting volunteers.

This program is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) and the Commonwealth Home Support Program– an Australian Government Initiative.
