VoCNT offers a variety of practical and emotional support services and prevention activities. We advocate for and promote public and government awareness of the rights, needs and interests of victims of crime.

In partnership with the Northern Territory Government, VoCNT has provided:

  • Information, referral, crisis support and counselling.
  • Assistance to prepare victim impact statements and CVSU applications.
  • Darwin Local Court, Courthouse Support Program
  • Financial Assistance in resecuring residential and business properties, and vehicles.
  • Home security assessments for at risk/vulnerable people.
  • Business security audits.
  • Remote community projects focused on building safety.
  • Victim support in Youth Justice Conferencing.
  • Crime prevention education and activities. VoCNT provides support from offices in Darwin and Alice Springs. Volunteers play an essential role by supporting the governance of the organisation, providing the courthouse support program, and assisting with promotional activities.

Current volunteer roles in our Darwin and Alice Springs locations include:

  • Courthouse Support - Being a friendly and approachable face for victims/witnesses attending the Darwin Local Court, assisting victims/witnesses with their orientation, providing info on services available, linking victims of crime to other supports and services etc.
  • Client Follow Up Program - Calling/visiting vulnerable victims of crime to check they're OK and see if extra support is needed.
  • Events & Stalls Support– Providing information and community awareness at stalls held at markets, expos, schools, shopping centres, etc.
  • Office Admin Support - Receiving phone calls and visitors, project support and general administration tasks that support the delivery of core community services.
  • 2024 Peer Support Group Program - Facilitation of regular face to face and online support groups for Victims of Crime

Driver's License preferrable but NOT required.
