The Parkland Residential Aged Care Volunteers offer support and companionship to 70 residents so they live a meaningful and dignified life.

Volunteer Qualities Caring, compassionate and with a genuine desire to spend time with aged care residents to supplement the care and support provided by staff.

Tasks Provide companionship and conversation by regularly visiting people, particularly those who may be lonely or socially isolated.

Being actively involved in recreational activities in a home like environment such as:-

• playing board games
• supporting residents to do art and craft activities
• Interacting with residents to stimulate and enrich their minds – e.g. reading stories, doing puzzles and quizzes
• assisting with morning/afternoon teas and dinner parties
• interacting with pet and animal therapies
• assisting residents on social outings
