Do you love the Geographe Bay area? Do you have an interest in making our waterways a safe and great place for recreation, business and family fun? Would you like a role as an active secretary of a not for profit group and all that the role entails? If so then join our very active group dedicated to "Keeping the Bay Safe". This is a non-operational role with scope to also join the operational team.

The secretary will be part of a nine person management committee and will attend three meetings per month on the 1st, 2nd and last Wednesday of each month. The secretary is the communications lynch pin of the committee and using Office 365 you will be in a key communications role both within the organisation and liaising with external organisations and entities. You will take and distribute meeting minutes, respond to requests for information, collate information, requests and details within and without the organisation and perform other secretarial duties. All Marine Rescue Volunteers are required to become members of the group at a very small fee per year and we will register you as a volunteer with DFES. We will also ensure that the correct paperwork is in place such as police clearances and associated requirements.

Marine rescue volunteers work in close liaison with WA Police Force to coordinate and perform marine recue activities as well as assisting other emergencies including bushfires. There are both responder and support roles available. Being an emergency services volunteer is a rewarding opportunity to give back to the community and there is a part everyone can play in making WA a safer state.
