Logo for genU

Our outdoor group and community group exercise program has been created as a space for over 65s to enjoy the physical, social and mental health benefits of staying active. Run by our Allied health team, clients participate in a ‘circuit’ based program, utilising the equipment to help improve flexibility, strength, balance and coordination.

However, we need your help!

The role:

Volunteers will help provide additional and extra support for our clients and the Allied Health staff. Responsibilities could include helping setting up the space and packing up light weight equipment, monitoring clients throughout the program, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all! Volunteers will not only contribute to the physical well-being of the participants but also play a key role in fostering social connections and facilitating a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

For you:

  • Make a difference in your community and get to know some new people!
  • Your time will directly impact the lives of our elderly clients, enhancing their mental wellbeing and fostering a sense of community.
  • Build new connections: Connect with professionals in the Allied Health field, expanding personal and professional networks.
  • Receive ongoing support and training throughout your journey.
  • Gain a fully funded NDIS Worker Check, a valuable addition to your resume.
  • Be welcomed into genU’s friendly and inclusive workplace.

About you:

  • Interest in physical exercise and/or allied health
  • Have excellent conversation and listening skills.
  • Are empathetic and compassionate about the wellbeing of older people.
  • Passionate about giving back to your local community.

Time Commitment:

Wednesdays from 9:45am-10:45am in our outdoor program or Wednesdays from 13:30-14:30 in our community centre-based program! You can volunteer weekly or fortnightly – let us know what may suit you! At genU we are all about flexibility.
