Aberfoyle Repair Cafe

Repair volunteers:

  • assess items brought in for repair to determine if they can be fixed, according to the type/s of repairs they are capable of doing
  • identify the reasons why items are broken/damaged/not working
  • fix items, if possible
  • show visitors how to fix their items, and involve them in the repair, if possible
  • advise visitors if and what parts are required to complete the repair
  • advise visitors about ongoing maintenance, and how to prevent future problems
  • assist with set up and pack up of tables, chairs and equipment

A small collection of tools and consumables is available for repair volunteers to use for repairs.

The repair cafe operates at Aberfoyle Community Centre on the second Saturday of the month from 1-4pm.

Volunteers are not required to attend every session, and can choose how often they help at the repair cafe.

Volunteers are added to a group chat on Facebook Messenger to stay up to date, and advise when they are available to help with events.
