Volunteer Learner Driver Mentor - Wodonga L2P

Junction Support Services - Wodonga

Volunteers are required for mentoring roles to assist young people to gain their 120 hours of driving experience to assist in obtaining their 'P' plates. Training is provided which is 10 hours of Vic Roads training and the volunteer is required to have a full drivers licence, over 25 years and willing to undergo a WWC check, police check and a driving history check. Time commitment would be 1 hour weekly for 12 months. Vehicle is provided. L2P matches experienced drivers with local young people who do not have a car or anyone who can teach them to drive to help them get the experience they need to get their P-plates. The L2P Program is a community-based initiative developed to assist young learner drivers, who do not have access to a supervising driver or a vehicle because of financial, personal, or family circumstances to obtain their Victorian Probationary Car Licence. Volunteer mentor drivers are matched with a young person and they supervise them for the mandatory 120 hours and guide their development as a safe driver.
