The ideal candidate should have knowledge, skill and experience in horticulture/native plants and general garden duties. The volunteer should also have a passion for working outdoors and a commitment to helping maintain and improve the garden environment.

The successful applicant will be expected to assist with garden maintenance duties such as weeding, mulching, pruning, and watering of plants. Other duties may include helping to prepare the soil for planting, sowing seeds, and helping to maintain the shade house and seedling production.
