We’re looking for Volunteers who are creative thinkers and committed to supporting people live their best lives. Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.

Uniting Social Support Program is seeking Volunteers who are interested in facilitating activities at The Toorak AgeWell Centre which offers customers the opportunity to engage in a range of social activities including art, craft and light exercise.

This role requires an outgoing, enthusiastic volunteer with effective communication skills and an ability to create positive interactions with the participants of the group. This role will provide you with an opportunity to apply and develop your group facilitation skills whilst making a valuable contribution to your community.

Facilitate activities such as: • Gardening and maintenance of veggie/garden boxes • Exercise activities • Games • Music • Dancing • Bus driving (drive a 12-seater bus to support in the transportation of clients to and from the Centre and during outings/excursions).

The selected applicant will demonstrate flexibility and an openness to support the day to needs and operation of the program. As a valued member of the Social Support Team, you will have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to meet new people and develop new skills. You'll have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. Volunteer to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.
