The Van and Warehousing team of volunteers support the Emergency Relief Services through the collection and delivery of donated goods such as Food and provisions from food providers such as shops, warehouse foodbank etc. Working in a team environment (consisting of two (2) or more people)

On-line induction and training. Off-line also available. On-site orientation and training.

Requirements

National Police Certificate
Working with Children Check

All volunteers must adhere to the Health & Safety policies. Logistics and/or warehouse experience desirable. Customer service, people management and negotiating skills with appropriate organisational and communication skills. Ability to adhere to manual handling work practices and safe work methods of all aspects pertaining to driving and van maintenance. Sound working knowledge of vans preferred. "Current Australian Driver’s License for driver roles". Thorough knowledge of all road traffic regulations and rules. Good communication skills with those we assist, volunteers, other staff and the public. Work in a cooperative and empathic manner when dealing with diverse and disadvantaged people, other agencies, staff, volunteers and the public. Proven reliability and punctuality. Positive, can-do attitude. Show initiative with a common sense approach. Physical ability to perform duties required of this position. Promote a proactive approach to Occupational Health and Safety. Ability to undertake manual handling tasks as required (lifting and storing of goods). Knowledge of Manual Handling procedures
