How would you like to help support Emergency Food Relief by volunteering with Noarlunga Uniting Church?

This role will have you greeting & providing assistance to individuals and families who are seeking emergency Food Relief!

Noarlunga Uniting Church are open:

• Monday - Friday from 9 am -11:30 am (with the exception of two weeks over Christmas).

You can choose how often you would like to be rostered on and what days are convenient for you!

Volunteers see a draft roster each month before it is finalised.

• If you are unable to attend on scheduled day due to unforeseen circumstances they have people who will fill in.

This position involves:

• opening the facility in the morning
• sorting and putting away food donations
• greeting clients
• and
• collecting basic information and guiding them through the food selection process if they are unfamiliar with it.

When the client has completed their food order form, the food is gathered and delivered to the person.

While the food is being gathered the person is offered coffee/tea/water and biscuits.

If you are comfortable with operating computer spreadsheets:

• you are welcome to keep the food inventory up-to-date
• enter clients information into the secure database
• and
• print leaflets and flyers that are put into the food bags.

You are rostered on with a minimum of two other people each day.

At the end of the morning you will lock up the facility with the other volunteers.

Noarlunga Uniting Church have training sessions once a year where the program is discussed and suggestions are made regarding changes and ideas to improve this service.

They have a team of fifteen volunteers currently and would like to expand this to twenty.

With their current volunteers, they have four older volunteers over 80 years of age that will be letting go of their volunteering over the next 16 months so the church are looking for a total of nine new volunteers ...and this could be you!
