You may sit with a student during a class, explaining terms and requirements so they can more easily keep up. Or you may help students meet their homework requirements, making sure they understand what is being asked of them, explaining any questions that might be challenging and generally supporting the students as they transition to life in Australia. Mercy Connect volunteers usually work with students during school hours and the volunteer commitment is for approximately three hours per week for school terms.
