Reception Volunteer: • Answer the telephone, mindful of phone etiquette, privacy and confidentiality. • Ensure all messages, including return phone numbers, are recorded on the carbonised message pad and passed on to the appropriate person. • Calls to clients should be transferred to the Nurses' station. They should not be transferred directly to the clients' rooms. • Direct visitors after they have signed in. • Update client list in folder. • Receipt money in receipt book • Housekeeping tasks are to be signed off • Housekeeping Checklists. • Empty rubbish bins as necessary. • Clean and tidy bench tops and cupboards, tidy Board Room and reception areas. • Clean Glass Doors as necessary. • Empty shredder as necessary. • Keep printer, fax and copier stocked with paper. • Restock pamphlets. • Morning additional tasks • Record received mail in the 'mail in' book. • Afternoon additional tasks • Record mail in the 'mail out' book. • Check the supply of tea/coffee/sugar/milk and clean cups available in the board room. • Before leaving, check that all board room electronic devices are switched off and windows are locked. • Turn shredder off at end of day.
