Lack of transport is a common barrier for our clients to remain part of their community. Having no transport can stop them from doing the things they need to do, and leads to feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Silverchain provides a range of transport services to clients living in eastern and southern regions of metropolitan Perth. Volunteers play a major role in helping clients get to where they want to go and making sure they get home safely. This might include going to their medical appointments, social outings, or going shopping.

• You will need a valid Australian drivers’ licence and access to a roadworthy car with a minimum third-party insurance.
• You also need to be able to be able to commit to your weekly scheduled transport appointments. Petrol costs are reimbursed to cover mileage to and from your scheduled sessions.

This role is best suited for experienced and safe drivers who enjoy spending time with older people in the community.
