Volunteer to change lives. Yours included. 📚 If you're a book aficionado with a knack for spotting hidden gems and a touch of 🎶 music and records know-how, we'd be stoked to have you join our crew. Our team is after someone to help set the scene for customers to kick back and pick out their next reads and tunes.

⭐ NEW STORE OPENING SOON ⭐ ETA LATE SEPTEMBER 2023 ⭐

💙 Your time will make a huge difference – helping us keep our book section shipshape and inviting, and boosting book and record sales. Plus, you'll be spreading the word about Lifeline's lifesaving work in Queensland.

What's the gig? Picture yourself in our buzzing Lifeline West Ipswich shop, alongside a diverse group of volunteers. And the best bit? We're flexible with days and hours.

Trust us, there's nothing like the feeling when you spot returning customers, drawn back by the awesome space you've helped create. If that sounds like a ripper time, come join the crew!

Don't worry, we won't leave you hanging. We're all about clear communication, a willingness to learn about those rare and collectible books, and having a friendly chinwag with folks from all walks of life.

✅ Your to-do list?  It's all about sorting and tidying books, magazines, CDs, and records, slapping on price tags, arranging them neatly, and assisting customers at the counter. Your book smarts will be gold – knowing titles, authors, and even uncovering hidden treasures. And if music is your jam, even better.

👌🏼 What’s in it for you? ▪ Do something new and different ▪ Experience the joy of making a meaningful difference ▪ Enjoy social interaction with others

🤹🏼 What skills will you need? Essential skills for this role include effective communication, familiarity with book titles and authors (including emerging ones), an understanding of valuable books and willingness to research rare finds. You should also possess knowledge about the worth of books, some musical awareness, and an understanding of record values. Being open to collaborating with people from various backgrounds is also crucial.

UnitingCare values diversity in our organisation and we have some principles in place that will help to promote both inclusion and access.  If you have any other accessibility requirements, please discuss these at the time of the interview.
