As the Cafe 175 Assistant Volunteer, you will be assisting the Kitchen Manager to provide meals for the customers.

You will manage, monitor and participate in the preparation of meals and refreshments by:

• Assisting with the 12-week menu planning
• Allocating food preparation and kitchen tasks
• Creating schedules to ensure menu items are available by cafe opening times
• Ensuring that kitchen processes and procedures are followed regarding cleaning operations
• Liasing with kitchen assistant volunteers to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with Safe Food Handling requirements

You will be responsible for the management and monitoring of supplies, storage and quality of stock, by:

• Completing stocktake of supplies on a regular basis
• Checking food is used within the recommended used by dates
• Ensuring stock is stored correctly regarding food label instructions and in accordance with Safe Food Handling requirements
