Fashion Upcycle Volunteer (Regency Plaza Depot)

Save the Children

Logo for Save the Children

What is the role? We have partnerships with leading Australian clothing retailers to receive from them end-of run or returned clothing. This partnership allows the retailer to discard stock without contributing to landfill and allows us to raise much needed funds for children by re-selling the stock, which is often brand-new with no or minimal defects.

What would you bring? We are looking for someone with retail clothing experience who can support us sorting through this clothing stock- it is an important Volunteering role because we consider it our “A-level” donations. We need someone who can see the value in clothing that's often more complicated than just ‘the brand’.

You would have full support and training from our State Retail team and stock-controllers.

Ideally this role would be completed by one person, up to 15 hours in a week but we are also willing to speak with multiple applicants!

Why volunteer with us?

It's fun. We'll provide all the training you'll need. By volunteering in our Sefton Park State distribution depot, you'll be supporting Save the Children, Australia's leading child rights organisation. We work with families and communities to ensure that every child can reach their potential.

It's flexible. Ideally, you'll be available to volunteer 1 - 3 days per week, either full day or half-day shifts. And all activities are Centrelink approved.

You'll be making a difference. Our programs improve the health of children, create greater access to quality education for all, and provide protection from abuse, neglect and exploitation. You'll be making a real difference to the lives of millions of children - now and in the future.

Who are we looking for? If you're punctual, reliable and honest, all you need is willingness to learn. Whether you're seeking retail work experience, recently retired, looking to meet some new people, or anything in between, we'd love you to join our brilliant volunteer team in our Op Shop.

It's really easy to get started, please apply today.
