The volunteer is part of a broader team of workers at the CC Community Women’s Health Centre. The Peninsula Centre particularly relies on the contribution of volunteers to run their day-to-day operations. The centre is currently open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

Key Responsibilities include: • Receptionist duties: o Meet and greet women as they arrive for groups/counselling/clinic: Make them feel comfortable, advise of availability of information. o Answer the phone, record messages. o Use email, for sending, receiving, forwarding, and managing the mailing list. • Clerical duties as required e.g., recording mail, keeping brochure stands and community resources up to date/keeping statistical records, photocopying. • Assist with set up for groups and tidy up after groups. • Assist with keeping reception/kitchen area tidy. • Computer work/typing as required. • Active listening as required/appropriate e.g., for drop-ins, women in crisis. • Assist with community and information stalls/events and other special projects of interest e.g., International Women’s Day and Women’s Health week. • Attend regular volunteer/team meetings and participate as an active member of the team in identification and research of future groups/workshops. • Contribute to policy development as required. • Contact and confirm with clients, registration for upcoming groups.
