Relay for Life - Event Committee Members

Cancer Council Tasmania

Logo for Cancer Council Tasmania

When it comes to cancer, it takes a community. Across Australia, hundreds of volunteers host unique RFL events to raise vital funds.

Together we celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and fight back against cancer.

Cancer Council Tasmania’s (CCT) RFL volunteer committee members contribute in the success of their regional events through various project management roles for their event, along with the fun of being a part of the actual event itself.

Areas in which you can support include: • Co-chairperson • Catering organiser • Volunteer coordinator • Ceremonies coordinator • Survivors & Carers planner • Team support and engagement • Venue coordinator • Entertainment coordinator

Additional support areas include: marketing, social media, challenges and activities and schools and youth coordinators.

We meet 4-5 times in the lead up to each event (Sept-March), either face to face or you can join via Zoom. Each meeting lasts 1-2 hours and you are pretty much guaranteed to make friends for life as you work closely with some amazing people, creating unforgettable events.

Through RFL, you have the power to unite your community through a cause that touches us all, make a real difference for those impacted by cancer, and have lots of fun!
