Caring Cuisine plays a vital role enabling older Australians to enjoy living independently in the familiar surroundings and comfort of their own home.

As a not-for-profit charity, in order to support our clients we rely on a large team of volunteers to prepare meals for our clients. These meals are then delivered to clients by volunteer drivers Monday - Friday.

As a Volunteer Kitchen Assistant you will attend our St Lucia service anytime that works with your schedule to help prepare ingredients, assist in cleaning utensils, pack and label meals. Our kitchen is open and staffed Monday - Friday, 5am - Midday and prepare fresh main meals, soups and desserts for over 400 clients every day. The main need at the moment is for volunteers to work 1 or 2 hours between 6am - 10am, however we are very flexible so if there is another time during our kitchen open hours that suits you let us know!

You can volunteer for one or more particular day/s each week, month or fortnight, or on an ad-hoc basis – we are very flexible depending on your availability! On-the shift training is provided by our Chefs and other experienced volunteers.

To succeed in this rewarding role all you need is a friendly disposition and willingness to give it a go!
