About Open Support: Established in 1990, Open Support is a community service organisation committed to providing assistance to families in need across NSW through the active participation of trained volunteers and staff.

Inspired by the charism of Mary Aikenhead and the Sisters of Charity, Open Support responds to unmet needs in society through the provision of greater access to healthcare, reducing social isolation and supporting families affected by domestic violence. Our 100% free of charge transport program Country Care Link, aims to help bridge the gap in access to healthcare for those who live in regional NSW. By providing transport service across the city, we help them access the care they need without the added stress and hassle of traveling in Sydney.

Aspects of the role:

*Provide transport to designated clients

• Pick up clients from designated points and transfer the client(s) to destination.

• Where possible assist clients with information and direction in relation to medical facilities or accommodation.

• Assist clients with luggage and belongings where possible

Transport Management

• Arrive reliably and on time when collecting clients.

• Ensure RMS regulations are observed regarding vehicle travel especially when transporting babies and children

• Assist and support the Country Care Link Program Coordinator in meeting program objectives.

Communication

• Apply active listening and interpersonal communication skills with all clients and program staff

• Demonstrate respect and understanding of individual and cultural differences in all interactions.

Essential requirements

• Current NSW Driver’s Licence, a proven safe driving record and access to a registered and insured vehicle

• Current Working with Children Check and Police Check

• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to work toward the same

• Current Mental Health First Aid Certificate or willingness to work toward same
