PCYC Queensland’s Braking the Cycle program supports young people to complete their mandatory 100 hours of supervised driving in a safe and suitable vehicle with a volunteer mentor. The vehicles are kindly donated by the community. Student participants will initially be assessed by a driving school to ensure competency. Potential mentors must have held their open licence for at least 12 months. Must currently hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card (working with children), patient, respectful, kind, good communication with young people, community minded, be able to follow policy and procedure. Supervise learner drivers, have basic computer skills/knowledge. Mon-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. Saturday 8:30am-12:30pm. Regular Volunteering - Ongoing Commitment. Free PCYC membership and Gym membership. Better understanding of QLD road rules. Rewarding life experience of teaching young people how to become safer drivers.
