Volunteer Cooks Needed for Community Street Kitchen

Location: Gets delivered to Martin Place - Cooking location can be anywhere in sydney

Description: Join us at CUDL, a dedicated non-profit organisation committed to helping our community through mutual aid. Since August 2019, we have been operating a weekly street kitchen, distributing food and other essentials to those in need. Our efforts have allowed us to serve over 300 meals weekly to people facing hardship in a socially and economically challenging environment.

What We Need: We're seeking compassionate volunteer cooks to prepare and package budget-friendly meals such as casseroles or curries with rice. Volunteers are expected to cook a larger quantity (6-8 liters recommended) of a meal and pack it into takeaway containers, which we will provide. These meals will then be placed in an insulated box for collection by our drivers between 11am and 3:30pm.

Requirements:

Ability to prepare a large quantity of food at home. Strict adherence to food preparation and hygiene standards, including careful management of food temperatures. Willingness to contribute on a volunteer basis.

Our Promise: At CUDL, we value every contribution, and every meal prepared by our volunteers directly supports individuals and families in need. While the demand is growing, so is our commitment to reach as many people as possible. Your contribution of a simple meal can make a significant difference.

How to Apply: If you're ready to make a direct impact in someone’s life, please reach out to us at [email protected]. Let us know what you can cook, and we'll arrange everything else, including the provision of takeaway containers and collection details.

Together, we can continue to provide essential support and strengthen our community through mutual aid. Become a part of our mission today!
