The resident companion volunteer will liaise with the Leisure and Lifestyle Team to provide one-to-one support and companionship to residents who have been identified to be socially isolated to maintain and enhance the emotional and social well-being of residents based on their individual needs, interests and cultural backgrounds.

Duties include:

• Establish rapport with the resident through actively listening to them talk about topics of their interest

• Initiate and lead conversation based on residents individual interests

• Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents as required

• Engage in an individual activity of interest to the resident if they choose
