Yarra Ranges TAC L2P - Volunteer Mentor Role

Yarra Ranges Council - L2P

The Yarra Ranges TAC L2P Program helps young people aged 16-21 years, who do not have access to a supervising driver or safe vehicle to accrue 120 hours of mandatory supervised driving practice. Your role as the Volunteer mentor is crucial in creating a consistent support in the learners gaining their necessary hours and subsequently improved opportunities for employment, further education or connection to their community. We ask for a minimum of 1-2 hours of driving with the learner each week in the provided L2P car. One of the great things about L2P is that you can drive at a time that suits your schedule and the schedule of the learner. If you have a few hours before work one day or an afternoon on the weekend, you can still volunteer with L2P!

Mentors are required to undertake a selection process in addition to relevant training. The training is designed to better understand the role of a supervising driver on the road.
