Parks & Wildlife Environmental Volunteers - Friends of Ferny Forest

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships

Logo for Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships

Become a 'Friends of Ferny Forest' volunteer and help the local Rangers with a variety of activities that will benefit the much-loved mountain bike track and surrounding forest in Mooloolah River Conservation Park, at Ewen Maddock Dam.

These tasks may include:

  • manual weed removal

  • native revegetation

  • rubbish collection

  • mountain bike track maintenance and repairs

  • recording of wildlife sightings, and more

Over time we hope the group develops a connection with the area and continues to gain knowledge and appreciation for this section of Beerwah State Forest.

As a volunteer, you can expect to:

  • make connections with like-minded people and other local environmental groups

  • learn about the different ecosystems and identify native and invasive species that exist within the park;

  • gain hands-on experience with safe work methods and best practice environmental management techniques.

  • enjoy being active outdoors and feel good about helping the environment.

Simply 'Apply' to register your details and receive information about the next 'Friends of Ferny Forest' event.
