TAC L2P Program - Volunteer Mentor - Mildura Program

Sunassist

Sunassist is advertising this role on behalf of the Mildura TAC L2P Program.

The role and function of an L2P mentor is to supervise rather than instruct; be a role model driver and support the young learner so that they may achieve the driving hours required to gain their probationary license. This process will aid the confidence and development of young drivers.

Mentors will work in conjunction with the Mildura L2P Coordinator, who will provide advice and support to the volunteers. The L2P Coordinator is advised under the guidance and direction of the Department of Transport who provide recommendations that appropriately support young learner drivers.

There is no cost to young people or volunteers in the program, and petrol and an automatic MG3 vehicle generously donated by Mildura Motor Holdings, is provided for use during the TAC L2P Program. All mentor supervising lessons will be conducted only in the L2P vehicle.

Mentors are required to undertake a selection process in addition to relevant training. The training is designed to better understand the role of a supervising driver on the road.
