Wood work class is a program of Mernda Community House/ Learn Local. It is an activity that runs each Friday during school terms where people can come together to learn how to use tools, make or repair things made of or using wood, get involved in small construction projects and build their confidence to attend to home maintenance. It is an inclusive and safe space where people can explore and build their skills and interest in wood work and meet other similarly interested people in their local community.

• Support the lead-instructor to deliver weekly session plans in a safe manner Make sure that participants follow all OHS processes • Help instructor to set up and pack up after each session • Help maintain tools and equipment Help source materials where convenient • Contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where women can learn new skills
