A charity offering a range of services to assist elderly people requires volunteers to visit residents in nursing homes and aged care facilities.

The Community Visitors Scheme is a Federal Government initiative which provides residents in nursing homes and aged care facilities with the chance to spend time with a volunteer companion.

The program offers volunteers the chance to get to know residents through fortnightly visits that include activities such as going for a walk and a coffee, sharing music, reading a book, or just simply engaging in conversation.

A friendly face plays a vital role in enriching the lives of the residents who might otherwise feel isolated from the community.
