Community Visitor

Establish and maintain friendship and ongoing relationship with an older aged person living in their own home or Aged Care facility. Primary Tasks:
- Be a companion, confidant and friend to the older aged person.
- Visit at least once per fortnight.
- Increasing older aged person's involvement in social activities and community affairs.
- Provide assistance with small tasks that might be done by a friend or neighbour such as posting a letter.
- May take the older aged person on excursions.
- Provide a record of the dates and length of visits of the CVS Coordinator.
- Respect the rights of the older aged person including confidentiality and privacy.
- Exercise a duty of care at all times.
- Inform the CVS Coordinator of any accident or incident that occurs whilst visiting.
- Notify the CVS Coordinator if there is an intention to cease visiting on a temporary or permanent basis.
- Inform the CVS Coordinator if you wish to stop visiting or would like to visit an additional, or different person.
