Uniting Victoria And Tasmania

Logo for Uniting Victoria And Tasmania

The Emergency Relief Centre is a Uniting service located in Wodonga. The service was established to provide food parcels to people from the Albury-Wodonga region who are experiencing financial crisis and are having difficulty providing food for themselves.

Working in a team environment, emergency relief parcel assistants receive consumers for food parcels, and food is given according to the consumer's needs. Donated food is sorted for correct storage according to Use-By dates and Best-Before dates, ensuring food safety standards are applied and adhered too. Volunteers are expected at all times to be non-judgmental in their approach and have the ability to respond with empathy to consumers in crisis. No previous experience is necessary.
