Project Yumi is an Australian registered charity that builds effective partnerships with local communities in Papua New Guinea, to enhance the quality of education and health care. We achieve this by deferring quality used school furniture and health equipment from landfill and send it to rural areas of PNG.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can help organise and support our volunteer and sponsorship programs. As the volunteer & sponsorship coordinator, you will become a part of our incorporated association as a management committee member.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise electronically and face-to-face with new volunteers, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported within the team.
  • Communicate with volunteers through email, and respond to emails in a timely manner. 
  • Inform volunteers of upcoming events.
  • Maintain an accurate database of volunteers and their service hours.
  • Providing volunteers with program certificates.
  • Organise and communicate with volunteers during volunteer events.
  • Hold online and face-to-face volunteer information sessions.
  • Look for sponsorship opportunities for our organisation utilising our tier sponsorship program
  • Nuture partnerships with sponsors
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Yumi team.
  • Uphold and comply with our constitution, policies & code of conduct.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven skills with Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets Google Docs and Surveys, and PDFs. 
  • Great communication skills.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.
  • Self driven individual who can deliver set tasks with passion and energy.

This is a volunteer position so no reimbursement is available. Commitment: 6 months + (5-8 hours a week)
