Logo for Pimpama Island & Districts Community Centre Ass.Inc

Set 'In the Canefields' in what was once Pimpama Island, the hall (Community Centre) is a historic building, built by locals in 1917 as a meeting place and dance hall to service the community.

We are seeking someone who wants to join our team. Our work days are dependent on our needs and the needs of our clients.

We are passionate about the history of Woongoolba Hall, to sustain its existence and thus preserving it for use by generations to come. We are a group of volunteers, where if something needs doing we all tend to get in and do it.

Hours required are on an as needed basis, depending on what is currently required for events, functions or activities.

Tasks will include clearing of tables after event, kitchen clean up and packing up, cleaning of floors, removal of rubbish and on some occasions clearing of tables and chairs. Generally making the place look spick and span again following the event.

Honesty, reliability and a passion for our heritage building is essential, as is a willingness to work well with our team.

Events hosted include:

  • Private events, both at our hall or elsewhere
  • Monthly Old Style Dances held on the first Saturday of every month
  • Monthly Morning Melodies Third Thursday of Each Month (Lunch)
  • Additional events, such as Melbourne Cup Garden Party.
