Street Mission Inc

Logo for Street Mission Inc

Street Mission is a charity operating two cafes for the homeless and disadvantaged in Sydney’s Northern Beaches region, and serve an estimated 300 meals a month using a 100% volunteer workforce.

Street Mission has an opening for a Community Café supervisor at its Dee Why Café. The Dee Why Community Café runs on Wednesday nights, from 5:00 until around 8:00 PM.

Street Mission is seeking responsible and committed volunteers available on a regular basis at least one Wednesday evening per month who have experience in food preparation and ideally have some experience in kitchen supervision (whether in a commercial kitchen, school or sport canteen, or other volunteer organisation, etc).

Our Community Café supervisor role is a dynamic and engaging role that includes: meal planning and purchasing of ingredients, assisting with and supervising other volunteers in the preparation and serving of the meal, overseeing kitchen clean-up and securing the premises. You will meet and interact with new people from all walks of life, develop your management and supervision skills, and be a part of a close-knit team sharing conversation and a nutritious hot meal with the homeless and disadvantaged in our community. Feel free to do it with a friend or partner !
