Emergency Relief Volunteer
Baptist Care SA
ER Volunteers will serve people who are experiencing social isolation, homelessness, mental and physical health issues, intellectual or sensory disability, or come from a refugee or culturally diverse background.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing material assistance according to Baptist Care SA standard operating procedure
- Assisting with preparation of food parcels
- Assisting with tidying up of ER room after each shift
- Conducting client interviews according to Baptist Care SA standard operating procedure
- Ensuring client’s details and records are kept according to Baptist Care SA policies Child Safe Environments
Volunteers in this role will: ~ Be respectful and courteous at all times to all visitors, other volunteers and employees of Baptist Care ~ Have a willingness to learn and follow instructions ~ Have empathy with people who experience hardship, loss, disadvantage and disconnection from the community ~ A valid DCSI Child-Related Employment Screening Check (less than 3 years old) ~ A valid National Police Check (less than 12 months old) ~ A valid Child Safe Environments Training certificate (less than 3 years old)*
Baptist Care will assist approved applicants to obtain these checks/certificates free of charge.
