The Shire of York covers over 2000sq.km around York, the first inland settlement in Western Australia. With a wealth of historic buildings and a wide variety of cultural events and activities, the Shire of York is a vibrant place with a great sense of community, permanency and pride. The Shire of York welcomes and values volunteers, who make an immense difference to many services, events and festivals that enliven and enrich the area. There are many opportunities to contribute including assisting at the Residency Museum, Library and Visitor Information Centre and with special events.
