The Perth Pirates Dragon Boat Club (PPDBC) is an inclusive, not for profit organisation that provides the opportunity for all within the community to experience the fast-growing sport of dragon boating. Based at 50 Clarkson Road, Maylands, the club is proudly partnered with other paddling and recreational sports groups within the Maylands Sports and Recreation Club. Currently the club has a base membership of 45, with a good mix of age and gender demographics and experience levels, that paddle both socially and competitively. On water training takes place 3 times a week in preparation for and during competition season, providing opportunities to prepare for the regatta season. The club is financially stable with excellent training and competition resources including boats (3 standard, 2 small), to ensure that coaches and members are fully provided for.
