The Friends of Chopin Australia is a national not-for-profit association established in 2012 and dedicated to the promotion of the music of Chopin in Australia, and to his role in Australia’s musical life. The Friends holds concerts and events, commissions new music, conducts research, holds the Australian International Chopin Piano Competition, and supports and promotes young Australian artists. It has strong Chopin links in Poland and is a member of the International Federation of Chopin Societies, and has as its patron the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Australia.
