The Somerville House Foundation was founded in 1984 by a group of parents and Old Girls with a passion and belief in the transformative power of education. SHF was one of the first girls school Foundation in Australia and has a proud history of providing scholarships to students who would otherwise not be able to attend Somerville House. SHF is the capital raising and fundraising body for Somerville House, operating as a separate company but key stakeholder of the school. Our vision is to inspire all those involved in the school community, past and present, to commit to a culture of philanthropy for our girls as rich as those that are present in boys' schools. As a tax-deductible fundraising vehicle, the Foundation partners with the School to deliver programs and projects that have a lasting impact on the educational journey of Somerville House students. This is achieved through raising and managing funds via appeals, events and initiatives to assist the School with current and future development priorities.
