The Geelong Miniature Railway Incorporated (GMRI) was formed in September 2016 and is a registered Not For Profit Charity Organisation. Made up of ex – servicemen and public who are railway and model engineering enthusiasts, whose founding members joined forces to plan and build a dual gauge (5 and 7.25 inch) Miniature Railway and Family Park for the Geelong Community. Built over several stages by the clubs members, the railway will consist of a roundhouse workshop area for engines and carriages storage, the workshop will also have a maintenance and fabrication facility. Over time dual gauge tracks, associated tunnels and bridges, a heritage themed railway station, and signal box will be constructed.
