We are an independent, Australia-wide charity who provide brand new books to children in priority locations around Australia. We do this because children who are exposed to good books and read regularly have better educational outcomes and lead healthier and happier lives. Despite some improvements, literacy levels in Australia remain of concern, particularly amongst the most vulnerable groups in society. We support children around Australia who are unable to access good books regularly. In the 2022 financial year, we have been able to provide over $1.3 million worth of books to over 42,000 children in more than 190 locations around Australia. In times of need, Dymocks Children’s Charities is there to provide resources and restore normality through the power of books. This includes providing books, puzzles and games to support vulnerable communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Australian bushfires and floods. Our mission is simple - to promote a love of reading and improve literacy outcomes for children in Australia. We believe all children should have access to good books, regardless of their circumstances.
