Bakhtar Community Organisation is a charitable, non-profit and first Afghan Australian secular organisation based in Victoria with a small team of staff supported by over fifty dedicated volunteers. We provide support, material aid and socially inclusive activities to a diverse range of community members many of whom are disadvantaged, isolated or marginalised due to family dysfunction, family violence, infirmity, disability, homelessness, mental illness or the long-term effects of drug or alcohol use. Our main goal is to bridge the gap between the community and the government services, provide a point of connection aimed at reducing isolation, promoting inclusion, integration and fostering mutually beneficial relationships amongst those who attend and offering pathways to involvement with the wider community.
