Founded in May 2002 and Incorporated in 2013, Circle of Friends is a grassroots network of people from all walks of life and all ages, who group together to welcome and assist refugees and asylum –seekers establishing themselves in their new community, or still in Institutional or Community detention. Circles of Friends help new arrivals to: Meet people and make social connections in their local community Locate nearby services and organisations which can assist them Practice English conversation Understand Australian customs and attitudes, government and other processes and requirements Access all levels and types of education
