The guiding purpose of Knit For Life is to provide benevolent relief to a community of mainly women and children in rural Zimbabwe through the dignity and self worth that paid work provides. Our Volunteer Committee overseeing Knit For Life sits in Sydney, Australia and works in close collaboration with community leaders to ensure the women play an active role in improving their economic and social circumstances through knitting and other community projects. Our Zimbabwean Manager oversees a team of 100 artisan hand-knitters who knit beautifully crafted bespoke baby and children’s wear, toys and homewares. Our product range is designed in Australia for the Australian and international market, and hand knitted using 100% naturally grown cotton. Knit For Life is an ACNC registered Australian charity with DGR status. We have well over 150 women who are keen to join the Knit For Life team of knitters and there is nothing we would love more than to grow Knit For Life so that every one of these woman who wishes to work can do so.
