Friends of the Ngoolyak is a group of environmental volunteers based at Piney Lakes Reserve, who study the lifecycle of flora, collect, process, and germinate seeds for planting in the Reserve. POOPS WA is an incorporated non-profit association staffed entirely by volunteers. Our volunteers are police-cleared and have a Working with Children Check and provide a range of services including home visits, dog walking and transport to/from vet clinics or boarding kennels. We cater specifically for people over 65 years of age – or palliative-care patients of any age – who have no relatives or friends willing or able to take responsibility for their pets in times of need.
Volunteers come on any week day from 9.30am to 2 pm to help prepare and serve food for the school’s recess and lunch breaks. Duties include food prep, dishes, general cleaning and selling and restocking food and drinks. Closed in shoes and a current Working With Children card are required and we will supply aprons and headwear.
