The Coordinator will commence as a dog reading team volunteer and after two school terms receive training to take on the Coordinator position. MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.

The Register of Appropriate Persons (RASP) provides support to young people who are required to be interviewed by police. The objective is to support these young people at times when another responsible adult is unavailable. The RASP volunteer presence helps young people feel confident that their rights will be respected, they have support to make conscious & informed decisions about how they interact with police during interviews, custody or charging processes and are treated fairly.
