About the role:
These volunteers sort and place on storage/display shelves, or separate for recycling, bedding/linen and other small items of goods received each day (apart from furniture and electrical goods).
Report directly to the Warehouse Co-ordinator of the day.
Separate items not suited to EERN clients into lots suited to op shops or other agreed organisations which can use the goods.
Prepare food packs and hygiene packs for distribution to clients requesting this support.
Monitor the levels of stocks of items used in the packs so required additional items are purchased in time.
Assist in planning the Christmas hamper activity, particularly in purchasing the required agreed items cost-effectively.
- Empathy with problems of the disadvantaged.
- Assist Agencies and/or their clients select linen, blankets and kitchenware
- Good organisational skills
- Able to work as part of a team
Must not be receiving assistance from a welfare agency at present (excluding CentreLink) due to possible conflict of interest.
