The program Red Cross is partnering with the City of Kalamunda, The Shire of Mundaring and the City of Swan to help prepare for emergencies. Hence sessions will be focused in these areas, although sessions do occur elsewhere.

Please include in your application a short covering letter addressing: What attracts you most to this role in particular? What relevant skills or experience would you bring to this role? Sessions run for approximately 60-90 minutes, and you can get involved as much as your time allows.   

You will be provided training and ongoing support to build your skills and won’t be on your own.

The opportunity Are you interested in learning as well as educating the people in your local community about emergency preparedness?

Getting ready for all sorts of emergencies, eg. Storms, Cyclones, Bushfire, Medical, Heatwave, Pandemic etc.

1 in every 3 Australians will experience an emergency in their lifetime. You will learn how to facilitate workshops with a wide range of community groups about emergency preparedness you can help create a more resilient and prepared community.

The impact We are seeing emergencies occur more frequently and with more severity.

REDiPlan is a community education program providing practical information to help people make informed choices about preparing for all types of emergencies. It promotes resilience in households and communities, and helps people deal with the impacts of an emergency or disaster, ranging from severe storms, fires and floods to personal emergencies such as a loss in the family or health epidemic.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
