Gift shop sales. Gallery assistant - monitoring gallery during opening hours, handling general public enquiries. Sunday afternoon fortnightly
Benefits: Working in a wonderful environment, meeting interesting people, gain knowledge of art, Japanese gardens and shop procedures. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in outings to other galleries, gardens etc.
Training: New volunteers are placed with experienced volunteers to learn about role, plus Gallery staff provide overall briefing, plus pamphlets given out or mailed re new exhibitions etc.
Notes: Good communication skills. Sales experience an advantage, but not a necessity. Gallery guides and garden guides required, but training provided.
